Assignment 14

A dog is reunited with his owner following the tsunami in Japan in 2011.

This picture was taken in Japan, when there was tsunami in 2011. This pic is very emotional and I chose it because the dog. The dog seems unwell, but he got back to his owner. Dog is a human’s best friend and loyal to his owner, so I really understand why his owner crying when he see his dog again. I’m sure when this disaster happened, this little thing that someone got back his dog alive, gave hope even a little.

The photo has been taken so close to the people and the dog and it makes a photo more powerful. I’m not sure how someone can take this kind of picture, because this timing is perfect and indescribable. The moment in the picture is captured forever and it’s really amazing. Even what happened in this pic, that behind this is a terrible disaster, this pic is pretty. The picture is pretty just because all these emotional.

This natural disaster was horrible, thousands of people died and most of people died by drowning. Buildings destroyed by the tsunami released thousands of tons of ozone-destroying chemicals and greenhouse gases into the air. It was one of the worst disasters in history.

Assignment 12

Compulsory subjects in high school

If you decide to come to high school, you can choose a lot of subjects that interest you. But there are also a lot of subjects that students are compulsory to read. Example. three curses religion. I don't understand why we can't choose how much we want to hear and "learn" about our own religion. It is our personal thing. I understand if we should take one course per subject and we can choose rest.

There are those who say that, Swedish must stop. But I understand Swedish, because we live in Finland and Finland has two official languages. So of course we need to know something about our second language.
I’m okay with all other compulsory subjects in high school, but religion is just only subject I can’t understand. We have to study religion our first nine classes, so why that much in high school too. Second thing, we know almost everything about these things what we have to study religion in high school. We know who is Jesus and history about him, we know a little bit about every other religions than Christianity and we know what is ethics.

So yes, if someone likes to study religion, if it’s passion to someone it’s okay. But this is “free country”, if I think I already know enough about my own religion why force. If I really want to know more, then I could choose the subject more. The way I see it, it isn’t so big deal if we could choose more subjects themselves, and maybe more people would choose high school after secondary school.

Assignment 11

Just a normal story

She is a short and little girl. She looks funny with her long, orange hair. Her skin-color is like a chocolate, its so cute. She have a blue eyes and little nose. Her clothes are pretty simple jeans and black t-shirt. Her name is Anna.

She might be a little funny looking, but she sure as hell is fiery, just like that hair on her head. You don't want to catch her on a bad day. Even though fiery and short tempered, she is still loving and caring when she wants to be. She enjoys solitude.

Anna lives in a small house with her mom. They also have a small garden full of flowers. Their house has three rooms and kitchen. One of the rooms is free while Anna and her mom has their own rooms. From the outside the house looks really warm, it's brown. In the inside the walls are filled with warm colors and lights. Anna has lived there her entire life and she can't imagine living anywhere else.

Anna is been bullied by almost everyone in her school, however there is this one person she always goes to when having a bad day. They have a very good bond and Anna keeps her as a mother in school. Anna feels comfortable being around her and she talks about almost anything with her. This person is Anna's teacher. They met a couple years ago when the teacher was shifted from another school to Anna's school. The teacher immediately caught Anna's attention for being different however very smart.  

She goes outside to the garden because she noticed that the flowers have already bloomed. So she picks them up with her little hands and then one by one starts to put them in a vase. She then goes to school with a big smile on her face. She give the flowers to her kind teacher and hug her. Her teacher smiles back, then both of them are really happy together.

Their joy doesn't last for long, as the flowers Anna has picked for her favorite teacher appear to be trigger an allergic reaction in her. Anna feels very distraught, as she had had very good intentions, what will happen now? As the teacher is being carried away Anna can't help but to wonder whether or not she has ruined everything. Does it matter at all that she was unaware of her teachers allergies?

She tries to go searching for her hospital because she wanted very badly to apologize about this very bad situation. She tried to call her teacher and hoped that she would pick up the phone, but she didn't.
So she went to the hospital.

Anna goes right up to the first nurse she sees in the hospital. It's tiny place so it's very likely everyone always knows  at least something about everything. The nurse immediately recognizes the case she is describing and leads Anna to her teacher. They have give the teacher medicine and she is feeling better. Anna feels like crap. She's never caused anything like this to happen to anyone else, so she can't quite cope with the situation and as she's crying out apologizes, tears in her eyes, her teacher tells her it's okay. It was just an inconvenience, and she's going to feel normal in a while.

Assignment 9

Horror story

I woke up to hear knocking on window. I heard it again, but I saw nothing. I wanted to call my mom or someone and then, there was a picture in my phone of me sleeping. But.. I lived alone. I couldn’t breathe or move or anything. This was too scary for me. “Are you scared?” I heard someone whisper. My hands started to shake. “Who are you?” I asked. And no one answered for a while, and then “Don’t worry my friend, we are safe here, they can’t get us.” Someone whispered back again.

“Who are you?” I repeated. Someone put the lights on. Can I just freak out? I decided to leave. I walked to the door, but it was locked somehow. Is this real? I can’t get out, my home. “Really? Who are you and let me out of here!” I said and tears fell down to my face. “I protect you.” I heard next. “For what?” I asked and nothing, again. I went back to my bed. I was so tired and I had work the next day early in the morning. I was too scared to sleep.

My phone rang. It was 11:30am. “I’m late!” I said and then answered the phone. It was my boss, “Are you okay?” He asked me. ”What? I’m so sorry I didn’t sleep so well last night and I just woke up.” I said, oh this is so embarrassing. “Thank god!” He said. “Because this morning someone was murdered there, in the same building where you live!” He continued. I’m shocked. I couldn’t say anything, I turned my phone off.

“I protect you.” Someone whispered again. “You woke up too late, because I kept you awake last night. It had to be you. You had to die.” He said next, and I recognized, the voice belonged to a boy. “Who are you?” I asked one more time.

“I’m your little brother Henry.” He answered. Henry had died two years earlier. 

Assignment 8

Omaha, NE -> Tulsa, OK

                                                                       

 (Topeka is half way to trip)

I drive from Omaha to Tulsa, with my two friends. It's like a road trip just for fun. We drive with a car, but I'm not driver because I don't have a drive license yet. The weather is pretty good for this trip. Sun is shining and there is no clouds. It's so pretty everywhere. I can really enjoy, I drink ice could lemonade and feel the wind from the open window. Nothing can ruin this feeling. We listen a good music and when next petrol station will be against us, we stop for a while.

We meet some nice people, who takes a few pictures of us. All people that we met, was so kind and smiles a lot and that is wonderful. I can't stop smiling by myself but it is okay, because why I shouldn't smile. We bought something little to eat, and then we continue our trip, because the journey is long. We had driven for three hours and half is left. Wow, the distance between Omaha to Tulsa is about 382 miles, I think it’s a lot.
Grass is so green, the building was high and white. Some buildings looks older and some looks new. There was a lot difference cars everywhere. All threes looks like a balls or bushes. It's looks funny.

I wanted to visit a Manhattan, but we don’t do it, because we don’t have time for it… Views was very cool and beautiful. Our trip has been fun, we tell jokes for each other and laugh a lot. Oh my god, everything was perfect but we came across some animal! What we do now? First we stop our car, we didn’t sure is it car broken or not. It wasn’t so big animal, I went to see what we hit and it was a big squirrel. We decided to call a police and they say we can continue our trip. Fortunately we survived a fright and our car is alright. The rest of the trip went well and we arrived. Hopefully the journey back to, goes better.
